Driving Management Reform
in 2008... and Beyond
Prioritizing Issues, Challenges and
Solutions
As the election cycle accelerates, the Transitions in Government Steering
Committee will review the final survey results for trends, directions and new
ideas. A final online poll will be launched in fall 2007 with e-mails and other
marketing to encourage a large swath of federal employees and the public to
prioritize the performance management issues in each of the six issue areas.

Expert Dialogue Sessions
A series of high-profile dialogue sessions around each of the core
management issues will be essential in bringing together key policymakers,
legislators, leading figures from academia and public policy as well as
representatives from each campaign. These dialogue sessions will feature
invited guests from a cross-section of government, academia, public policy
and other disciplines. The Dialogue Sessions will conclude with a strategy
session and final recommendations for the next administration.
Final Reports and Recommendations
The Transitions in Government Final Report will be a full finding of
the group’s work, survey results and dialogue sessions. As an objective
description of the federal management initiatives that have worked, as well as
those that fell short, the report will highlight the leading ideas for improving
performance as determined by everyone who took part in the project.
By capturing the knowledge of federal leadership, as well as leading public
Administrators and thought leaders, this document will bring the highest
